the wife: You're just trying to provoke me!

me: Well, you're the one making up all these rules.

the wife: What rules, 'don't rub your foot long toenail on me'?

fuss: (shrieks with merriment)

    Gross.

    And here's to rules:

    Rub only soft things on soft things (with one exception there).
    Always listen to the wife.
    Don't ever provoke the wife.
    Limit toenails to one-half foot!

    It was sheer persecution, there wasn't even any 'rubbing' going on, it was incidental contact!

    Although I admit the offending nail was slightly outsized.
